Background
Uploads of the 2026 CMS plan dataset have been delayed. While the exact cause is unclear, the good news is that this delay does not impact your ability to quote or enroll clients — platforms like Sunfire, Connecture, and Medicare.gov operate independently of the CMS file uploads and remain fully functional.
What this means
Here’s what this means for agents:
The Sunfire quote & enroll workflow will function as normal — 100% supported.
Approximately 20% of regional, local, small, or suppressed carriers/plans may be missing from manual entry.
If an agent needs to add a plan that isn’t in the platform, they’ll need to use the “Other” product type workflow to enter it manually.
When will the new plans come out?
We’re awaiting more details and will share updates as soon as we know more.
FAQs
Why isn’t my carrier showing up?
The CMS dataset is currently limited to Sunfire’s plan dataset.
If I write it in, will it still work with auto-contact updates (i.e., churn)?
For all large carriers, we will clean up this data as much as possible on our side.
For small, regional carriers, we will be doing an internal analysis to determine how best to clean this up on behalf of our agents. Stay tuned.
Will the retention program still work for these clients?
Yes, as long as you input them into the Spark platform and add some sort of policy to the contact, they will be updated to be a “client,” and all clients receive client retention programs as long as they have the needed information (address, email, etc.)
