License Management: Track Your State Licenses & Manage Reminders

Track your active and expiring state licenses, and manage the reminders you get as they near expiration, all from one place in your Spark platform account.

Overview

The license management tool gives you a single view of every state license tied to your account, including issue and expiration dates. It also sends you reminders as a license nears expiration so you don't miss a renewal.

Where to find it

Navigate to Back Office → Contracts & Licenses, then select the Licenses tab.

If you're an agency principal, you'll find this under Carrier Contracts → Agency Licenses (your agency's own licenses) or Downline Licenses (your agents' licenses).

What you'll see

Each row shows the State, License/Class, Issued date, Expires date, and current Status. Your resident license state appears in bold.

Check Show expiring/expired only in the top right to filter the list down to licenses that need your attention.

Expiration reminders

As a license approaches its expiration date, you'll receive email reminders at 90, 60, 30, and 15 days before expiration.

💡 Not planning to renew a license? You can stop reminders for it yourself, no need to wait to hear back from us. See Managing your reminders below.

Managing your reminders

If you don't plan to renew a specific license, you can stop just those reminders:

  1. Go to Back Office → Carrier Contracts → Licenses.

  2. Search for the state.

  3. Click Renew License.

  4. Select Mark as not interested.

✅ This stops reminders for that license only. Your other licenses keep sending reminders as usual.

To stop license expiration reminders entirely, across every state:

  1. Go to Settings → Communication Preferences.

  2. Find What would you like to be notified about?

  3. Deselect License expiration alerts.

⚠️ This stops all future license-related alerts, not just the ones for licenses you've already renewed. You may miss reminders for other states if you turn this off.

Frequently asked questions

I already renewed my license through NIPR. Why does it still show as expiring in Spark?

Spark pulls license data directly from the National Insurance Producer Registry, NIPR, so there's no need to send us a copy. It typically takes up to three business days for NIPR to process your renewal, plus one or more business days for Spark to receive the update.

I'm not planning to renew this license. What should I do?

Go to Back OfficeCarrier ContractsLicenses, search for the state, click Renew License, and select Mark as not interested. This stops reminders for that license only, right away, without needing to reach out to us.
