Spark gives you two ways to get contacts assigned to LOA agents: assign a single contact at a time, or bulk assign a filtered list across several agents at once. This article covers both, and helps you pick the right one.
Two contacts assignment methods
Both assignment methods are only available in the LOA view.
Method | Best for | Where you'll find it |
Assign one at a time | Assigning a single contact, or making quick individual changes | The ⋮ (more) menu at the end of a contact's row |
Bulk assign to agents | Splitting a filtered list of contacts across several agents in one step | The Send action on the contact list → Bulk assign to agents |
If you only need to move one or a few contacts, assigning one at a time is quickest. If you're distributing a large, filtered list (for example, hundreds or thousands of leads) across a group of agents, use Bulk assign to agents.
Assign a contact one at a time
The single-assignment option is the fastest way to handle an individual contact.
Go to the Contacts list.
Find the contact you want to assign.
Open the ⋮ (more) menu at the end of that contact's row.
Choose the assignment option and select the agent you want to assign the contact to.
The contact is assigned immediately and appears in that agent's book.
Tip: Use one-at-a-time assignment for corrections and edge cases. For example, reassigning a single contact who was placed with the wrong agent.
Bulk Contact Assignment
Before you start:
Bulk assign to agents is available in the LOA view of the contact list.
Any filters you've applied to the contact list carry into the bulk flow, so you can control exactly which contacts get distributed.
A contact is assigned to exactly one agent per distribution, the tools never split a single contact across multiple agents.
Open the tool
On the contact list, apply any filters you want so the list shows only the contacts you intend to distribute.
Select the Send action, then choose Bulk assign to agents from the dropdown.
The flow opens in three steps: Contacts to assign, Choose agents & split, and Confirm.
Step 1: Contacts to assign
The flow inherits the active filter from your contact list and shows how many contacts will be distributed. For example, "1,889 contacts matching the current filter will be split across the agents you choose below."
Review the count to confirm you're working with the right set.
If you need to change which contacts are included, select Change filters to return to the contact list, adjust your filters, and re-enter the flow. The count updates to match.
Step 2: Choose agents & split
Use the Add agent picker to search for and select the agents you want to distribute contacts to. Use Select all to add every available agent, or Clear all to start over.
As you add or remove agents, the split table updates live. Each row shows an agent and the number of contacts allocated to them, and a running summary reads "N agents selected · 1,889 contacts to distribute." Select the ✕ next to an agent to remove them.
Choose how to divide the contacts:
Split evenly (default) Contacts are divided as evenly as possible across the selected agents. Per-agent counts are read-only and recalculate automatically as you add or remove agents. For example, 1,889 contacts across 2 agents becomes 945 and 944.
Custom split Set the allocation yourself using a per-agent input. Toggle the unit between:
Percent: enter a percentage for each agent. The total must add up to 100% (for example, 34% / 33% / 33%).
Number of contacts: enter an exact count for each agent. The total must not exceed the number of contacts available.
Select Reset at any time to return every agent to an even distribution.
Step 3: Confirm
Review the summary, which confirms the scope. For example, "1,889 contacts will be distributed across 2 agents."
Select Confirm assignment to commit the split. Contacts are assigned to the respective agents and appear in each agent's view.
Select Cancel to exit without making any changes. Confirm is disabled until at least one agent is selected and the split is valid. If it's greyed out, check that you've added an agent and that your custom allocation reconciles.
How contacts are divided
A few rules keep every distribution clean and complete:
One agent per contact. Within a single distribution, each contact goes to exactly one agent, there's no overlap across the agents you selected.
Even splits handle remainders automatically. When the total doesn't divide evenly (for example, 248 across 3 agents), the extra contacts are distributed one at a time to the top rows so the per-agent counts always add up to the total.
Custom percentages convert to whole contacts. Percentages are converted so the allocated total reconciles exactly to the available set, with no dropped or double-counted contacts.
Custom counts can't exceed the available total. In the Number-of-contacts unit, the amounts you enter must sum to no more than the contacts available.
Validation and error messages
"Total exceeds 100%. Reduce it to continue."
In a custom Percent split, your allocations add up to more than 100%. The inputs are outlined in red and Confirm assignment stays disabled until the total is 100% or less.
Confirm is greyed out.
You haven't selected an agent yet, or the split isn't valid. Add at least one agent and make sure your allocation reconciles.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find Bulk assign to agents?
In the LOA view of the contact list, open the Send action and choose Bulk assign to agents.
Can I assign just part of a filtered list?
Yes. Apply your filters on the contact list first — the bulk flow distributes exactly the filtered set. Use Change filters inside the flow if you need to adjust.
Can the same contact be assigned to two agents in one distribution?
No. Each contact is assigned to exactly one agent per distribution.
Why can't I select Confirm assignment?
Confirm is disabled until at least one agent is selected and the split is valid. In a custom Percent split, a total over 100% will block confirmation until you reduce it.
Is the one-at-a-time option still available?
Yes. You can still assign a single contact from the ⋮ (more) menu on that contact's row. Use it for individual assignments and quick corrections; use Bulk assign to agents for distributing a list across several agents.
What happens to the contacts after I confirm?
They're assigned to the agents according to your split and appear in each agent's view.
