Anthem Upline Transfer Information

We are excited to share that Spark downlines are now eligible to complete a link to finalize their transfers for Anthem to Agent Pipeline.

As a refresher, Spark made a strategic decision to partner with Agent Pipeline (APL) earlier this year. Anthem requires EVERY agent to complete a link to transfer. The good news is that the link takes less than 10 minutes to complete! We’ve created a step-by-step guide to help you through this.

Agency Owners / Corporate Contracts

Complete the link that you should receive via email from [email protected].

Please note the following:

  • Be sure to expand the Personal Information section and select Yes to the question: Are you the Principal of an Agency of General Agency?

  • Add your agency information

  • In Step 9, for the question Select who your Medicare commissions should be paid to: Select 3 Tier Broker Owned Agency

  • You will need:

    • Anthem Username/Password

    • Agency Tax ID

    • Banking Information

    • States (available in the Carrier Contracts section of the platform)

FAQ

Why haven’t I received my link request yet?

Agent Pipeline is manually sending these links to you, so we are not 100% sure what time of day they are doing this.

If you still have not received a link from [email protected], please feel free to call back, and we can re-send it.

I’ve completed all the steps with Anthem, and I still do not show as Ready to Sell.

It can take up to ten (10) days for your status to be updated after completing all steps.

What if there is a state in my link that I don’t want to pay the fee for?

If you already have the state appointment, you will not need to pay a second time during the transfer process. If a state was added in error, please email us at [email protected], indicating the states you need for your link, and we will request a corrected contract for you.

It is recommended that you maintain state appointments anywhere you have a client or plan to write business in the near term. You are always welcome to add additional states later.

Why is my Anthem contracting at a standstill due to fees?

Anthem requires that agents pay the state appointment fees. If you have any concerns regarding this matter, escalate to your direct upline for further guidance.

What should I enter for the recipient of Medicare commission payments?

This depends on your level. If you are street level, this gets paid directly to you. If your level is LOA, your commissions are assigned to your upline agency.

What if I can’t log in to Anthem?

This instruction guide will show you the step-by-step instructions for logging in to Anthem.

If I’m an agency principal but didn’t mark myself as an agency principal, what do I do?

Email [email protected] to let us know. We’ll get the link canceled and resend a link that is for AP’s.

I’m unable to complete my certifications because the system indicates that my NPN is already in use.

I’ve heard that I’m supposed to receive a link, but haven’t yet.

We are gradually sending Anthem links over the next 3 weeks, so if you haven’t received a link yet, you will soon!

All links will be sent out by 9/10/2025. If you’ve received an email from Spark saying that you should have a link and haven’t, you can reach out to [email protected]

Do I have a deadline to complete my link?

Your link will expire after thirty (30) days, so we strongly recommend that you complete it in that timeframe. That said, we know you’re all busy, so if your link expires, please request to resend a link in the platform under Carrier Contracts (fastest method) or reach out to [email protected].
